Beacon’s 26^th Annual 50+Expos

The Beacon newspaper is pleased to announce the dates and venues for this fall’s 50+Expos. These free annual events attract thousands of older adults and their families to obtain information from a wide range of valuable resources, as well as health screenings, vaccinations, volunteer opportunities and more.

Event Details:

• Silver Spring Civic Building, Silver Spring, Maryland
  Date: Sunday, September 28, 2025
  Time: Noon to 4 p.m.
  Highlight: Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich will engage in a “Community Conversation” with Expo attendees starting at 3 p.m.
• Springfield Town Center, Springfield, Virginia
  Date: Sunday, October 5, 2025
  Time: Noon to 4 p.m.
  Highlight: In addition to the expansive 50+Expo, the Beacon partners with the Fairfax County Area Agency on Aging to offer “Venture into Volunteering," featuring more than 35 agencies and nonprofits offering exciting volunteer opportunities.

Attendees at both events can explore dozens of exhibitors from government agencies, nonprofits and local businesses offering information on healthcare, fitness, financial planning, housing options, home remodeling, home care, insurance, travel, senior resources and more. Parking is free at both locations.

Health and Wellness:
Prioritizing the health and well-being of attendees, the Expos will offer free health screenings, including blood pressure, blood glucose and cholesterol tests from Giant Pharmacy. Giant will also provide important vaccines, including the latest COVID-19 and RSV vaccines, regular and high-dose flu shots, Shingrix (shingles), pneumonia and tetanus vaccines. Please bring your Medicare and/or insurance card, if applicable.
