Membership Meeting Minutes - 22 January 2026

The meeting was called to order at 7:08 pm by the president, Peter Myo Khin. The meeting was virtual.

Guest Speaker: Peter introduced Mark Terry, Chief, Traffic Engineering Studies,DOT. Mark described various traffic control and calming measures, such as speed humps and speed bumps, chicanes, curb bump-outs, and dynamic speed signs. Mark explained that the requirements for the various measures have changed. He described the evaluation process for traffic control and calming devices. He encouraged us to email our concerns to TrafficOps@montgomerycountymd.gov.

Many neighbors have expressed concerns about parking and speeding on the streets near Page Elementary School.

The other scheduled guest speaker, Danielle Brown, was unable to attend the meeting and will reschedule.

Approval of Minutes:

Joanne and Wayne moved and seconded the approval of the minutes of the November meeting; the minutes were approved.

Committee Reports and Updates: 

Executive Committee: Vernell spoke about Zeffy, updating our tax ID, and inviting speakers. Peter has filed documents for a tax ID and is waiting for an update. Our annual report is on the website. 

Finance Committee: Peter presented on behalf of Mardwin. At the end of 2025 there were 22 household memberships; our cash balance was $3538.

Membership Committee: Vernell described the Zeffy payment program. Peter discussed how to pay membership dues and related fees via Zeffy. Robert Stubblefield discussed plans for the community block party and health fair to be held at Page on 16 May. There will be food trucks, an ice cream truck, possibly a bounce house, and a fire truck. Representatives from local hospitals will be invited to participate.

Tamarack Triangle Village: Diane presented an update on TTV; donations thereto are now tax-deductible. The potluck dinner will be held at Page on 23 January from 6:00 to 9:00. Flyers describing TTV will be distributed throughout the neighborhood. A plant exchange is being planned for June, and other events are in the works.

New Business: None.

The next general membership meeting will be held at Page on 25 March at 7:00.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:28 pm. There were 22 people in attendance.
